ADDENDUM TO SENATE FISCAL AGENCY ANALYSIS OF SBs 72-75 DATED

2-21-01:

HOUSE COMMITTEE ACTION:

The House Criminal Justice Committee adopted a Substitute H-2 for Senate Bill 74 that would make technical amendments to the title of the bill to reflect the provisions of Public Act 2 of 2001. The House committee also adopted amendments that would change the effective date of each bill to September 1, 2001 to provide a public notification period of 90 days before the bills take effect. (The S-1 versions of each bill provided for a June 1, 2001, effective date.)

POSITIONS:

The Family Independence Agency (FIA) supports the bills. (4-24-01)

The International Union UAW supports the bills. (4-24-01)

The Michigan State AFL-CIO supports the bills. (4-24-01)
