Rep. Stephanie A. Young, from the 16th District, offered the following invocation:

· “Lord God – I bless Your Holy Name today.

· I thank You for the ability, honor and privilege to stand, before You, in this chamber to offer a prayer, a word of encouragement for us, Your people.

· Lord, You know all about the challenges that lie before us. The difficult choices we must make at times; and

· I beseech You to help us find common ground in our collective duty and desire to serve the great people of the state of Michigan.

· Lord, I pray that we be endowed with Your wisdom and discernment, that it would lead us to make the best decisions regarding Your people.

· Lord help us to serve through the lens of the Fruit of the Spirit: ‘Love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such there is no law.’

· Lord, may Your love, grace, and perfect will abound this day and forevermore, because indeed, Love is the Work!

· This I pray in Jesus’ name, but please pray as you believe … Amen.”
